Roxanne Evans is a mixed media artist and professional photographer living in Venice, Florida. She draws upon her career as a commercial graphic artist and her love of nature to create compelling photographs of Florida landscapes and wildlife. Her work features artistic composition and the creative use of shadow and light. Her passion is nature photography. Roxanne is a member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and CPS (Canon Professional Services).
I have been fascinated by photography since I was a kid. When I received my first camera, I was fascinated by the fact that I could use the magic box to record the history of my family. At first I just took snapshots, but then I really began to see what was happening in the viewfinder. I started capturing the emotions of the people I loved and became a visual storyteller, capturing the twinkile in my grandfather’s eye as he sang to my younger sister.
My love affair with photography continues. My images convey the awe I feel when I see a landscape I want to photograph. I also capture images that tell the stories of my clients; the look of joy in a bride and groom’s eyes before they share their first kiss as man and wife, the confidence of an attorney whose portrait I create, or the tears of joy at a family reunion. The ability to tell stories with my photography never ceases to amaze me and never will.
